The ZEN of skiing
by jcf. Average Reading Time: less than a minute.
Sometimes you don’t fight the skis. You don’t fight the weather. You don’t fight the mountain. In rare circumstances, your body flows down the mountain in fluid motion. You don’t have to think about the at of skiing. Your body just does it. You become part of the mountain. Excellent.
All in all I achieved this state for a total of about 2 minutes during the holidays. It was worth it.
Of course it was also worth for the fact, that my little girl (4 years) got the hang of skiing and I can take her most of the places now. Gone are the days of standing around, freezing or pulling a sleigh while the bigger one cries for more action on the slope. YEAH!

So this means that it is only a matter of time until you, as I do, struggle to keep up with your child as they effortlessly fly down the slope! :-) Cheers
It is. My 6 year old is skiing quite fast, and I’m sure my 4 year old will follow him soon. While my son hasn’t gotten any notion of fear (“I’m off to jump over that jump”) and I have to pick him out of the snow from time to time, my girl seems to have excellent body control. She hardly ever falls – but manages to stay on the skiis even through difficult situations. Both are going to take ski lessons when we go on holiday at the end of februray, and I have planned to take some lessons also just to keep up ;-)
